BS Environmental Engineering Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

To accomplish the mission of the University, the Chemical Engineering & Technology Department supports the objectives of the College and expands the objectives to satisfy the needs of the Environmental Engineering constituent groups.

After five years or so of their professional career:

  1. Graduates will be successfully employed and/or will be principals in the industries, firms and government offices associated with engineering and planning, and/or professional engineers and/or planners starting-up and growing their own new firms. They will become recognized experts working in government, academic institutions, consulting firms and international organizations around the country and around the world collaborating and participating in interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teams in addressing some of the most challenging environmental and planning problems of our times.
  2. Graduates will become leading researchers and academic staff, and/or professors who will create and disseminate new knowledge in environmental engineering and planning.
  3. Graduates will demonstrate a commitment to ethical practice and professional development by extending their knowledge through continuing education and self-directed life-long learning, professional licensure, and service to the profession and society prioritizing public health and safety, environmental protection and sustainability.
