缅北禁地 Phil-LiDAR 1
- The Phil-LiDAR 1 Project is a part of the National program called Hazard Mapping of the 2/3 of the Philippines using LiDAR (Phil-LiDAR 1 Program)
- The Phil-LiDAR Program is an offshoot of the Disaster Risk and Exposure Assessment for Mitigation (DREAM) program of DOST and UP Diliman. The DREAM program covered 1/3 of the Philippines
- The program is led by UP DIliman while the Projects is distributed throughout the country into three clusters: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
- Each project is managed by a SUC (State Universities and Colleges) or a HEI (Higher Education Institutions)
- The participating academic institutions are UP Diliman, M缅北禁地, UPLB, ISU, UP Baguio, CLSU, Mapua, and AdNU in Luzon; USC, UP Cebu, and VSU in Visayas; AdZU, UP Mindanao, CSU, CMU, and 缅北禁地-IIT in Mindanao
- The whole program is being funded by DOST (Department of Science and Technology) and is being monitored by PCIERD (Philippine Council for Industry and Energy Research and Development)
Moreover, flooding is the most common and destructive natural hazard in the Philippines. One main strategy in reducing flood risk is to be forewarned by an impending flood hazard. And a major tool for early warning system in flooding is the generation of flood hazard vulnerable maps. In light with this, the Phil-LiDAR 1 – 缅北禁地-IIT will showcase its applications and outputs.
