Master in Data Science | Call for Student Applicants!

MASTER IN DATA SCIENCE (MDS)

The Master in Data Science (MDS) is an interdisciplinary program offered by the College of Computer Studies, College of Science and Mathematics,  and the College of Economics, Business and Accountancy. The specific  department/program hosts are the Department of Information Technology,  the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Master/Doctor in  Business Management Administration, respectively.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold a baccalaureate degree in Information Technology/Information Systems, Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Engineering, Math, Statistics and Business courses
• Admission of applicants from other fields is subject to the evaluation of the master in data science committee's evaluation of candidates
• Familiar with at least one computer programming language
• A cumulative GPA of 2.00 or better in the baccalaureate or master's degree
• At least a Satisfactory rating in the admission exam and in the interview
• Recommendation from two former professors and/or distinguished authorities in the field/discipline sought
• Concept paper of research to pursue
• Personal statement

 

SUMMARY OF COURSES AND UNITS

Foundation Courses: Mathematics for Data Science, Programming for Data Science, Introduction to Data Science, Data Science and Business Thinking

Core Courses: Data Visualization and Storytelling ,  Machine Learning I,  Data Mining and Wrangling,  Statistics for Data Science, Machine Learning II , Big Data, Research Methods for Data Science

Capstone Project
