Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine the perceived effect of virtual reality headset on students’ dancing performance. It aims to examine the relationship of the identified independent variables such as students’ age, familiarity, awareness, top concern and perception of the appropriateness on the use of virtual reality headset. A descriptive-correlational type of research was employed in determining the relationships between the identified variables. This was conducted among sixty Physical Education students at Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology, Iligan City, Philippines. The principal instrument of the study was the questionnaire, which consisted of two parts: first part was the profile of the respondents such as name, age, familiarity and awareness on VR, top concerns in using VR and perception to the appropriateness of using VR as learning in dancing; and the second part is rate on the use of virtual reality headset on dance performance. A Likert scale questionnaire contains a series of statements, inviting the respondents to respond to each based on how strongly they feel on a sliding scale. The results showed that there is a significant relationship found between the students’ demographic profile and their perception on the appropriateness of the use of virtual reality headset. Moreover, the respondents find the use of virtual reality headset effective on improving their dancing performance. Thus, it is recommended that teachers who are teaching dance may use this virtual reality headset as a teaching aid.
