Abstract |
The integration of technology in the classroom enhances teaching and learning process. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the use of e-learning materials in Mother Tongue instruction particularly in teaching early reading skills. 60 participants who are considered struggling readers in Grade One answered the pretest-posttest questionnaire. This study used a quasi-experimental research design involving control and experimental groups. The development of the e-learning materials followed the ADDIE Model Instructional System Design. Findings showed that the use of e-learning materials in Mother Tongue is as effective as the conventional teaching method and obtained positive perceptions among the learners. This concluded that the use of e-learning materials enhances the teaching of Mother Tongue. It recommends that the media elements in the e-learning materials should be used appropriately and the story should contain many words that start in the target letter. |
