Office Mandate

The Center for Advanced Education and Lifelong Learning, as a support system of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs for advanced education, shall:

  1. Coordinate with all the colleges in the planning, administration, monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement of all graduate programs;
  2. Ensure the implementation of policies and procedures concerning graduate programs;
  3. Coordinate with institutions and other government agencies in the advancements relating to the graduate programs;
  4. Provide support and assistance in developing and approving new programs;
  5. Ensure new programs proposed by each department of the Institute are consistent with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Policies and Procedures, and any other relevant professional, regulatory, or statutory bodies;
  6. Maintain quality assurance mechanisms and ensure that faculty and staff perform their duties competently;
  7. Secure accreditation and recognition of graduate programs;
  8. Ensure that the career development plans of the faculty and staff of the graduate programs are implemented; and
  9. Recommend to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs the hiring of Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs).
