Department of Computer Science

Established in 1984, the Department of Computer Science has been in the forefront in providing the University with research and education for both theoretical and practical aspects of computing. Since its establishment, the Department has experienced significant growth in the improvement of its curriculum and the development of its faculty members. The department is composed of a competent teaching force with specializations in various areas in the theoretical foundations of computing and in software engineering technologies. It has produced professionals holding important roles in the academe, industries, and government institutions.

Admission Requirements

  1. Incoming Freshman
    1. The SASE cut-off score for incoming freshmen will be determined by the Department.
    2. The documentary requirements are prescribed by the Admissions Office and Registrar's Office.
    3. The default source of input is the senior high school graduates from Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) track in the K to 12 Basic Education Program. Graduates from other tracks such as Humanities, Education, and Social Science (HESS), Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), General Academic Strand (GAS), and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) shall take the necessary bridging courses required for the admission to the program.
  2. Transferees from within and other 缅北禁地-Campuses:
    1. The transferees shall apply for admission to the program in the Department.
    2. The transferee must have a GPA of 2.50 or better and he/she should not have incurred a failing grade in mathematics, sciences, and computer science courses.
    3. The transferee submits documents as required by the Admissions Office and Registrar's Office for enrolment.
  3. Transferees from other schools

    Transferees from schools other than those belonging to the 缅北禁地 system shall satisfy these requirements:

    1. Must pass the admission exam given by the Admission Office.
    2. The transferee must have a GPA of 2.50 or better and he/she should not have incurred a failing grade in mathematics, sciences, and computer science courses.
    3. Must pass the interview conducted by Chairman or committee designated for this purpose.
  4. Second Courser

    Students who are degree holders and who wish to seek admission to SCS shall observe/comply with the following:

    1. They will be given lower priority over transferees since all courses in the SCS are quota courses and slots are limited.
    2. Their TOR鈥檚 shall be evaluated noting specifically, grades in mathematics, language, and science and IT related subjects.
    3. Must pass interview conducted by Chairman or committee designated for this purpose.
