Prof. Charlie A. Lavilla Jr. of the College of Science and Mathematics won 2nd place for Best Poster Presentation at the International Conference on Drug Discovery and Translational Medicine (ICDDTM) held on December 5-6, 2023 at Mines Beach Resort, Seri Kembangan, Selangor, Malaysia.
Prof. Lavilla presented his research entitled, “Selected Mindananoan Medicinal Plants as Potential Agents to Improve Insulin Resistance in Skeletal Muscles Under Metabolic Stress.”
The said study was co-authored by Heisen Jane L. Esdicul (undergraduate student), Charles Klein M. Gorit, Francis N. Limbag (Research Assistants), and Prof. Mylene M. Uy
Prof. Lavilla’s graduate students, namely Michael Angelo Circulado (MS Candidate), Jessa Marielle Paulines (MS Graduate), and Richemae Lebosada (PhD student) also presented their respective projects.
ICDDTM ‘23 aims to bring together academicians, health industry players, researchers, clinician scientists, medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, other healthcare personnel, policymakers, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows from all parts of the world to discuss the current progress of drug discovery and translational medicine.
