Biology graduate student wins Best Paper Presentation Award during the 2024 ICCBS in Tokyo

Biology graduate student Rose Chinly Mae H. Ortega-Kindica won the Best Paper Presentation Award on the session topic Nanotoxicology and Biology during the 11th International Conference on Chemical and Biological Sciences 2024 (ICCBS) held at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan on April 9-12, 2024.  

The paper entitled “Predicting Taxonomic and Functional Profiles of the Microbiome Communities Associated with Hippocampus barbouri” was co-written by Chinee S. Padasas-Adalla, Dr. Sharon Rose Tabugo, Dr. Joey Genevieve Martinez, Dr. Olive Amparado, Dr. Carlo Stephen Moneva, and Dr. Jose Luis Balcazar. 

ICCBS serves as a significant platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate on Chemical and Biological Sciences from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The conference was organized by The Network Joint Research Center for Materials and Devices: Dynamic Alliance for Open Innovation Bridging Human, Environment and Materials. 

Ortega-Kindica’s participation was funded by the Department of Science and Technology-Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program.
