Today, January 23, 2024, Chancellor Alizedney Ditucalan welcomed the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG) and Project Political Participation for Greater Electoral Integrity (PARTICIPATE) to explore prospective partnerships and collaborations.

In attendance during the meeting were key officials, including Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño, Dean of Ateneo School of Government; Dr. Julio C. Teehankee, Chief of Party  for Project PARTICIPATE; Ms. Jovie Corazon B. Importante, Deputy Chief of Party for Project PARTICIPATE; Mr. Nizam M. Pabil, Program Manager for PARTICIPATE BARMM; Ms. Angelika M. Sarmiento, Project Coordinator  for PARTICIPATE BARMM; Ms. Bea Alyssa B. De Castro, Research Assistant for ID Team; Prof. Ephrime Metillo, Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise; Prof. Nancy Echavez, Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs; and the Assistant Directors of IPIL.

One of the key highlights during the meeting was Chancellor Ditucalan’s introduction of the Institute for Policy Innovation and Leadership (IPIL). This served as the springboard for dialogue on collaborative research and training initiatives between ASoG, PARTICIPATE, and the University. Among the areas identified for potential collaboration are:

(1) Educating leaders that would advance social transformation, good governance, and political reforms; and

(2) Enhancing non-partisan political participation of the citizenry in government-administered national and local electoral processes, an essential element of true democratic governance in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). This includes initiatives to increase the availability and accessibility of information for informed voting, as well as to provide technical assistance to the Bangsamoro Transition Authority.

The meeting ended with 缅北禁地-IIT being invited to attend the launching of the PARTICIPATE program in Cotabato City on January 30, 2024.
