CED, CASS celebrate 40th Founding Anniversary聽

The College of Education (CED) and College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) celebrated their 40th Founding Anniversary on January 24, 2024. The week-long celebration commenced on January 22 with an Opening Program, and featured various college activities.

Part of CED’s Opening Ceremony was a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between 缅北禁地-IIT and three colleges – Southern de Oro Philippines College, Christ the King College de Maranding, Inc., and 缅北禁地- Lanao National College of Arts and Trades. The agreement underscores cooperation and collaboration between the University and each partner institution to develop educational training, and research and extension programs.

Celebrating with the theme, “A Ruby Tapestry of Excellence: Empowering Minds, Enriching Futures in Teacher Education,” CED put up the Education Gallery Exhibit, held the 20th Pinning and Moving Up Ceremonies of Student Teachers, Stakeholders Research Forum, Research Colloquium and Poster Presentation, Sports Events, Technology Innovation Day, and an Awarding Ceremony.

CASS also conducted several activities aligned with the theme, “PinakamalaCASS: Celebrating 40 Years of Influencing the Future.”

The college celebrated with a Family Day on January 20, 2024, put up also an exhibit of the various hallmarks and stories of each department, conducted student activities, and a Gala Night for the CASS faculty and staff. A highlight of its celebration was the . 

In a short interview, CASS Dean, Dr. Marie Joy Banawa said that what CASS has attained in the past and at present will be sustained in the future. “So the legacy has been there already, the foundation has been laid before them. My only hope is that it can be sustained or surpassed. I'm really confident that CASS can make it,” she said.
