To help retirees navigate through a significant transitional period in their lives, the WE CARE Office of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs (OVCPA), together with the College of Health Sciences (CHS), celebrate Valentine’s Day with a program called, “A Valentine Date with 缅北禁地 Retirees: Nurturing Physical and Emotional Wellness” on February 14, 2024, at the PRISM Building.
This gathering was attended by retired 缅北禁地-IIT faculty members and staff and was also privileged to have had former Chancellor, Dr. Marcelo Salazar as one of the participants.
Two resource speakers were invited to talk about the physical and emotional wellness of retirees– Dr. Jill Irene C. Sun from Mercy Community Hospital and Adventist Medical Center of Iligan City and Prof. Minnie Mamauag from 缅北禁地-IIT’s CHS. They shared effective approaches for handling the psychological aspects of retirement, methods to alleviate stress, and ways to cultivate a positive mindset. An open forum followed after the talks.
This activity is one of the university’s ways of spreading love by advocating for a healthy and happy retirement life.
