The Mindanao State University General Santos City (缅北禁地-GenSan), and the Illana Bay Integrated Computer College, Inc. (IBICCI) of Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, both conducted benchmarking activities at the College of Health Sciences (CHS) last February.

As part of their ongoing efforts to enhance their academic programs and institutional practices, 缅北禁地-GenSan, through its Chancellor, JD Usmah D. Aragasi, MPA, sent a team of delegates to collaborate with 缅北禁地-IIT's CHS on February 28, 2024.

The 缅北禁地-GenSan team consisted of faculty members from their College of Medicine, Dr. Romeo G. Teves, Dr. Vivien Leigh P. Mina, Dr. Usmaima Usman-Naga, and Jimmart R. Pedrigosa, RN, MAN.

The visit and benchmarking activity proved valuable and was done to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advancing the shared goals of excellence in higher education between the institutions for the benefit of their respective academic communities.

IBICCI School President Pendaliday B. Beda, JD, also sent their delegates and program implementers to conduct their respective benchmarking activity at the CHS on February 5, 2024.

This was done in connection with the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) who granted IBICCI authority to offer additional programs, that is, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) for the 1st Semester, AY 2023-2024.

Recognizing 缅北禁地-IIT's BSN program, and as one of the top-performing nursing schools in the country, the activity was carried out to identify the program’s best practices in the operation and implementation, for the benefit of IBICCI's efficient delivery of the said programs in their school as aligned with the mandate of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

As a Private Higher Education Institution in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, and currently on its 14th year of operation and having produced many professionals who are now serving the community of BARMM, the IBICCI believed that such benchmarking activity could contribute to the improvement of their facilities and instruction delivery, as they continue to envision to provide opportunities for young people to pursue higher education and attain their goals in life.
