Beginning the First Semester of AY 2024-2025, the College of Engineering (COE) will be offering three new graduate degree programs – MS Robotics, MS Electronic Engineering, and MS Chemical Engineering – with DOST-Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) scholarship.

The Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) is a consortium of eight member universities in the country (of which 缅北禁地-IIT holds membership) that offer master's and doctoral degrees in various engineering fields.

These three new graduate programs were approved by the 缅北禁地 Board of Regents last year, through BOR Resolution No. 128, S. 2023.

According to COE Dean Maria Sheila K. Ramos, the programs will be offered in the following departments and will be managed by their respective program coordinators:

MS Robotics

Department of Mechanical Engineering and Technology

Dr. Carl John Salaan

MS Electronics Engineering

Department of Electronics Engineering

Dr. Olga Joy Gerasta

MS Chemical Engineering

During an interview, Dean Ramos revealed that there will be fifteen slots allotted for the scholarship, with five designated for each program.

With this expansion, COE now offers a total of seven master’s degree programs. The addition of these newly supported programs aims to foster the growth of skills and knowledge in these vital sectors within the country. This push is expected to stimulate research, development, and innovation, thus contributing to advancements in these fields.

Dean Ramos also stated that the College is seriously considering adding more graduate programs and is currently drafting the proposal to offer an MS in Sustainability Engineering and an MS in Biomedical Engineering programs.
