Acknowledging the vital role of traffic management, the Iligan City Traffic and Parking Management Office (ICTPMO) enlisted the help of 缅北禁地-IIT to provide comprehensive training on automation governing traffic light signals.
A specialized training on Traffic Light Signal System maintenance was then organized and conducted on campus by the University’s Department of Computer Engineering and Mechatronics (DCEM).
DCEM faculty members guided the training participants (ten maintenance team members of the ICTPMO) as they delved into the intricacies of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and helped them gain proficiency in programming these using ladder logic diagrams.
Through engaging lectures and hands-on sessions for five days, the learners not only grasped the fundamentals of PLCs but also acquired the confidence to navigate the software and hardware components of these devices.
The training not only equipped the participants with technical expertise but also instilled a sense of responsibility and dedication towards improving traffic efficiency and serving the community of Iligan City.
The DCEM conducted the training on February 17 and 24 and March 2, 9, and 16, 2024.
