After successfully advancing from the regional level to compete on the national stage, 缅北禁地-IIT won second place in the 2024 Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) Innovative Awards for Higher Education, organized by the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED). The awarding ceremony, held on May 17, 2024, at the CHED Auditorium in Diliman Quezon City, saw 34 higher education institutions (HEIs) vying for recognition in this nationwide competition.
The PADS Innovative Awards for Higher Education is an initiative of CHED, in accordance with Executive Order No. 66 s. 2018, also known as “Institutionalizing of the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS)” was established to implement and institutionalize the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) across various sectors, including state universities and colleges. HEIs showcased their significant projects and programs aimed at fortifying anti-illegal drugs efforts within their institutions.
缅北禁地-IIT’s participation was led by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Services (OVCSS) and the Office of Communications. The award was received by the Vice Chancellor for Student Services, Prof. Rohane M. Derogongan; Director of the Office of Student Development Services, Prof. Phyllis Marie Teanco; and Ms. Kiziah Dato, OVCSS staff.
This achievement reaffirms 缅北禁地-IIT's unwavering commitment to the pursuit of a drug-free Philippines. The University will continue to make more policies and activities aimed at creating a society void of illegal drugs.
