Computer scientist honored with IEEE Senior Membership for outstanding contributions

In a significant milestone for both personal and professional achievement, Prof. Orven E. Llantos, PhD, a faculty member of the Computer Science Department, has been awarded the prestigious title of Senior Member by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This honor is bestowed upon individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the advancement of engineering, technology and applied sciences.

Prof. Llantos’ journey to Senior Membership is a testament to his unwavering dedication, innovative spirit, and commitment to excellence in their field. With over 20 years of experience in Computer Science, Prof. Llantos has been instrumental in projects that have significantly impacted the community through his my.eskwela project’s digital transformation in Philippine Education. The my.eskwela project also influenced the scientific community through research publications and international paper presentations.

The IEEE, the world's largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, recognizes Senior Members as individuals who have shown exceptional professional accomplishments and have demonstrated a high degree of competence and leadership in their respective fields.

Throughout his career, Prof. Llantos has been involved in groundbreaking projects, including my.eskwela and TRACKER, which have earned them respect and admiration from peers and industry leaders alike. His innovative approaches and solutions have not only addressed critical challenges but also paved the way for future advancements in Computer Science.

In addition to his technical achievements, Prof Llantos has also been a dedicated mentor and advocate for the next generation of computer scientists.
