For the first semester of AY 2024-2025, the 缅北禁地-IIT College of Computer Studies (CCS) has implemented international collaborative engagements with Future Gen International Pte Ltd based in Singapore, the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) based in Johor, Malaysia, Khon Kaen University (KKU) based in Khon Kaen, Thailand and KakiDIY Dot Com based in Selangor, Malaysia.
The academic collaboration involves co-teaching engagements with faculty members from UTM and former lecturer from KKU as well as industry experts from Future Gen International and KakiDIY for subjects offered by the BS Computer Applications, BS Computer Science, BS Information Systems and BS Information Technology programs of 缅北禁地-IIT.
UTM is ranked 181 in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, and 401-500 in the 2024 THE World University Rankings. KKU is ranked 951-1000 in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, and 1201-1500 in the 2024 THE World University Rankings. Future Gen International Pte Ltd is a data center management company which offers clients with services ranging from data collection, cleansing, normalization, analytics and visualization. KakiDIY Dot Com is a platform for Do-It-Yourself innovators which allows sharing and collaboration through its educational and entrepreneurship programs.
These faculty members and industry experts who will be co-teaching with CCS faculty members are Mr. Wilson Chua, Dr. Ahmad Fadhil Yusof, Dr. Parichart Bootvong, Dr. Mohamad Haider Abu Yazid, and Mr. Johnson Lam.
Mr. Wilson Chua holds a Masters in Information Technology Project Management from the National University of Singapore and was awarded as a Distinguished Alumni of the University of the Philippines Cesar Virata School of Business. Mr. Chua is a Cyber Security Specialist and is the Managing Director of Future Gen International Pte Ltd as well as a Technology Columnist of Manila Bulletin. Mr. Chua will be teaching ITN111-Information Security with Asst. Prof. Junil Rarugal.
Dr. Ahmad Fadhil Yusof holds a PhD in Information Systems from UTM, is a Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Computing and the inbound mobility manager at UTM International Office, leading in the UTM Mobility Program. With his expertise in information systems adoption, m-health, and education informatics, Dr. Fadhil served as the former Head of the UTM Information Engineering and Behavioral Informatics (INFOBEE) Research Group. Dr. Fadhil will be teaching ISY108 Requirements Engineering with Asst. Prof. Jerina Jean Ecleo.
Dr. Parichart Bootvong Dr. Parichart Bootvong is a captivating individual with a wealth of expertise and experience. Holding a Doctor of Juridical Science from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia, she has served as a Lecturer and Course Coordinator at Khon Kaen University's Faculty of Law. Dr. Bootvong's credentials also include an Attorney at Law License and a prestigious YSEALI Professional Fellowship at the National Association of Attorneys General in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. Her upcoming collaboration with Atty. Eddie Bouy Palad in teaching ITE184-Social, Legal and Professional Issues in Computing promises a dynamic and insightful learning experience.
Dr. Mohamad Haider Abu Yazid holds a PhD in Computer Science from UTM, is a Senior Lecturer from the UTM Faculty of Management and is a member of the Information and Service Systems Innovation Research Group (ISSIRG). With his expertise in artificial neural networks and medical informatics, Dr. Haider also serves as Affiliate Research Fellow of the Institute of Human Centered Engineering, IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Center. Dr. Haider will be teaching CSC193-Special Topics in Computer Science with Asst. Prof. Renato Crisostomo.
Mr. Johnson Lam finished his BSc in Computer Science from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia and is the Founder of Kaki DIY Dot Com, former Chief Innovation Officer of the SOLS247 group, and former Head of Knowledge Management of Axiata Group Berhad. Mr. Lam was recognized as the 2021 Innovator of the Year by the Top In Tech Innovation Awards for his KakiRepair and was also chosen to be part of the Top 21 Most Inspiring Community Leaders Globally by Facebook / Meta. Mr. Lam will be teaching BCA172-Technopreneurship with Asst. Prof. Stefany Mae Caparida.
This will be the third semester that CCS will be implementing its co-teaching internationalization strategy with its partner universities and industries. Through co-teaching engagements with international collaborators, 缅北禁地-IIT aims to elevate not just its internationalization engagements but also the quality of instruction and research specifically in the field of informatics.
