缅北禁地-IIT teams excel at HackForGov 2024聽

缅北禁地-IIT has once again showcased its exceptional talent in cybersecurity at the HackForGov 2024 competition that was held at Go Hotels, Robinsons Mall in Iligan City, as three teams representing the university garnered several awards. 

doraTheExploiters, consisting of Oliver Rhyme Añasco, Kenan Cinches, Ryan Edquila, and Keane Kiechel Tumanda, who were first-timers in this competition, achieved a remarkable feat by winning 1st place. One of their members, Keane Kiechel Tumanda achieved the top individual scoring and has earned the opportunity to compete at the national level - a testament to their hard work and skill.

Carlo++, with team members Carlo Arellano, Elizer Dolorosa, Sean Benson, Vince Loable, and coach Orven Llantos, finished in 7th place out of 13 teams. 

Team IO, made up of Mark Andrey Acebu, Thaddeus Rosales, Tristan Jadman, and Leon Diehl Cayabyab, also secured the 9th place. Their performance further highlights the strong cybersecurity talent nurtured at 缅北禁地-IIT.

HackForGov 2024, themed "Today’s Generation, Tomorrow’s Champion: Shaping the Future of Cybersecurity through Shared Responsibility," provided an immersive experience through a Capture the Flag competition, challenging participants with real-world cybersecurity problems. The event underscored the importance of collaboration, ethical practices, and shared responsibility in tackling cyber threats.

The success of these teams reflects not only their technical prowess but also the university's commitment to excellence in cybersecurity education.
