Since its inception in 1961 to provide accessible education and foster peace in the Mindanao region, 缅北禁地 will celebrate its 63rd Founding Anniversary on September 1, 2024. This year’s theme is “Fostering a Harmonious Balance Between Technology and Humane Learning.”
To show support and strengthen the integration of 缅北禁地-IIT and other 缅北禁地 campuses within the historical fabric of the 缅北禁地 system, 缅北禁地-IIT had a whole-day pre-celebration of the Founding Anniversary at the campus on August 31, 2024.
The day kicked off with an early motorcade around the city followed by an opening program organized by the 缅北禁地 Alumni Association - IIT Chapter at the University Gymnasium. The program started with a Zumba dance where 缅北禁地-IIT constituents, in unity, showed off their energetic moves. The event also welcomed the 缅北禁地 President, Atty. Basari D. Mapupuno, and the 缅北禁地 Alumni Association - Iligan Chapter.
Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, in his welcome address, emphasized the theme and stated that it encapsulated the significance of blending cutting-edge technology with the core values of human learning. According to him, technological advancements revolutionized how we learn.
“缅北禁地 is at the forefront in integrating innovative tools and digital resources in our curricula, making education more accessible, more interactive, more engaging,” he said.
缅北禁地 President Mapupuno also delivered an inspiring message and expressed his gratitude to the alumni who organized today’s event. He added that this celebration is a way to renew the 缅北禁地 system’s commitment to the future.
“As we make our way into this season of celebrations, let us remember that founding anniversaries are not just about looking back; they are also about looking forward. We honor our past, but we must also renew our commitment to the future,” said the President.
Messages were also given by different 缅北禁地 alumni to express their appreciation and gratitude for the University.
After the program, University officials proceeded to the hallway of the old SET building for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the opening of 缅北禁地-IIT’s One 缅北禁地 Gallery, which showcased the 11 campuses of 缅北禁地. Simultaneously, the gymnasium buzzed with excitement as the 缅北禁地 Trivia and Pakulo events unfolded.
In the afternoon, the 缅北禁地-IIT constituents enjoyed various rounds of children’s games on campus as part of today’s activity and a podcast with an 缅北禁地 pioneer aired online.
Tomorrow, on the official Founding Anniversary, 缅北禁地-IIT’s Resident Cultural Groups will take the stage at 缅北禁地-Marawi for the highly anticipated Rawaten Gala.
