More linkages are forged by the University this year with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between 缅北禁地-IIT, through the Premier Research Institute of Science and Mathematics (PRISM) and Shimadzu.

Today, September 23, 2024, the 缅北禁地-IIT contingency led by Chancellor M. Ditucalan and PRISM Executive Director, Dr. Mylene Uy, and Shimadzu representatives, Mr. Dave Chua,  Executive Officer and Senior General Manager of Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd. and Engr. Roque Castillo, Asst. Vice President of Shimadzu Philippines Corporation gathered at the University Boardroom to mark a meaningful partnership between the two institutions.

缅北禁地-IIT is the first Philippine Higher Education to collaborate and partner with the said corporation, and to become a member of the World Lab Network through this partnership.

Shimadzu Corporation manufactures precision instruments, measuring instruments, and medical equipment, which, according to Chancellor Ditucalan in his welcome message, significantly helped and enabled 缅北禁地-IIT researchers to craft innovative solutions and advance scientific research.

“Our relationship is symbiotic, long before this Memorandum of Understanding signing, we [were] already partners in innovation and in research,” the Chancellor said.

Dr. Uy also highlighted in her speech that this partnership is a testament to the shared commitment to advancing scientific knowledge. “At PRISM we believe in the power of collaboration to thrive progress and create meaningful impact,” she stated. By joining forces with Shimadzu, she said, students and researchers will be provided with access to cutting-edge technology and experience.

Mr. Chua and Engr. Castillo both expressed optimism for the partnership, voicing confidence that it will lead to meaningful contributions that will benefit the community.
